Virat Kohli and Jasprit Bumrah have been named in India’s ODI squad for the three-match series against England. Yashasvi Jaiswal has been dropped.
Kohli, Bumrah and Axar return; Yashasvi, Prince and Dubey dropped
Kohli missed the Afghanistan series due to a hamstring injury he picked during RCB’s victorious IPL 2026 campaign. He has been picked for the England ODIs, which start on July 14, but his availability is subject to a fitness clearance. Jasprit Bumrah returns as well, with his last ODI appearance for India coming in the 2023 World Cup final.
Jaiswal was named Kohli’s replacement against Afghanistan, and finished the series with an unbeaten 110 – his second hundred in last three ODI appearances – but was dropped. Harsh Dubey and Prince Yadav, who made their international bows in the Afghanistan series, are not part of the recent squad, but Gurnoor Brar, who also made his ODI debut in the same series, has retained his spot.
Harshit Rana, who was drafted in for the third match against Afghanistan after recovering from a knee injury that forced him to miss the T20 World Cup and the IPL, has also been picked. Hardik Pandya remains on the sidelines due to a quadriceps injury, whereas Axar Patel is back in place of Dubey.

Varun Chakravarthy ruled out of Ireland vs India T20I series
Meanwhile, Varun Chakaravarthy has been ruled out of the two-T20I series against Ireland, starting July 26. He, however, remains part of the India squad for the following five-T20I series against England and the 2026 Asian Games.
