The 2025 Irani Cup will begin on October 1, with Vidarbha taking on Rest of India at Nagpur. Here's where you can watch the Irani Cup match live.

The Irani Cup is an annual one-off first-class game between the winners of the Ranji Trophy and a multi-state Rest of India team, picked by the BCCI each season. The tournament was first held in 1960 and has been played annually since 1962 each year, barring 2020 and 2021, when it was cancelled due to the Covid-19 pandemic.

Who will play the 2025 Irani Cup?

The 2025 edition of the Irani Cup will be played between the 2024/25 Ranji Trophy winners Vidarbha and the Rest of India squad, which will be led by Rajat Patidar. Ruturaj Gaikwad will be the vice-captain of the side that also includes Yash Dhull, Ishan Kishan, Akash Deep and Khaleel Ahmed. Abhimanyu Easwaran has also been selected, after being omitted from the India squad for the West Indies Tests.

Akash Deep, who played a crucial role in the Test series against England, has not been picked in the senior team due to a lack of match practice after being sidelined because of injury in the last two months.

Vidarbha, on the other hand, will be captained by Akshay Wadkar. Yash Rathod, the highest run-scorer in the Ranji Trophy, has been named the vice-captain.
