Bangladesh duo Taijul Islam and Nahid Rana achieved career-best ICC Test bowling ratings on Wednesday.
Nahid Rana, Taijul Islam achieve career-best ICC ratings
The second Test between Pakistan and Bangladesh ended in Sylhet last week, as Bangladesh completed a second consecutive whitewash of their Asian rivals, following their win in 2024. Left-arm spinner Taijul Islam starred in the fourth innings of the second Test, taking 6-120 to seal the series. That, combined with 3-67 in the first innings, earned him a boost from 704 to 732 rating points, the highest of his Test career. Taijul also moved up two spots in the bowling rankings, to 11th in the world.
Speedster Nahid Rana's 3-60 and 2-71, after a match-winning 5-40 in the first Test, also saw him achieve a career-best of 377 rating points. He is ranked 54th in the world now.
There was only one change in the top ten of the bowling rankings, as Pakistan spinner Noman Ali dropped to seventh, with Australia's Scott Boland moving to sixth. The top ten of the batting rankings remained unchanged, but Mushfiqur Rahim moved up 10 places to 16th after a record-breaking 14th Test century in Sylhet.
