Latest ICC women’s T20I team rankings: Updated table after Sri Lanka beat Pakistan 2-1

Pakistan chased down a modest target of 114 runs with 10 balls to spare, thanks to Ayesha Zafar’s measured knock of 39 runs off 31 balls with six fours. She was well supported by skipper Muneeba Ali (19) and Shawaal Zulfiqar (21) as Pakistan registered a consolation win to end the series.

For Sri Lanka, skipper Chamari Athapaththu and Kavisha Dilhari accounted for two scalps each, but the rest of the bowlers couldn’t strike regularly. Earlier in the game, the hosts got off to a decent start as their openers, Imesha Dulani and Athapaththu, scored 36 runs in just 5.2 overs.

But Pakistan bowlers pulled things back in the middle overs, picking up wickets at regular intervals. The Sri Lankan skipper did well to muster 34 runs, but once she was dismissed, the innings fell apart. Sri Lanka could score only 40 runs off the last 50 deliveries to post 113 in their 20 overs.

The score didn’t prove to be enough eventually, with the Pakistan batters applying themselves better on the day. Despite the loss, Sri Lanka won the series 2-1, as they had won the first two matches. The centurion of the opening game, Dulani, won the player of the series award while Ayesha Zafar took home the player of the match.

As for the rankings, Sri Lanka have slipped from sixth to seventh place with a loss in the final T20I against Pakistan. They lost one point to slip below the West Indies while Pakistan remain in eighth place with 211 rating points to their credit.
