The ICC Women’s T20 World Cup 2026 starts on Friday, June 12. Here’s what the WT20I team rankings look like ahead of the marquee event.
Six-time champions Australia hold the top spot in the team rankings ahead of the WT20 WC, with hosts England in second. India are third, defending champions New Zealand are fourth, whereas South Africa, considered the favourites by many, are holding the fifth spot.
Though the West Indies won the recent tri-series against Ireland and Pakistan, they dropped to seventh after losing to Ireland in the last completed match of the rain-affected series in Dublin. Sri Lanka moved up to sixth, with their last T20I assignment ending in a 3-0 clean sweep of Bangladesh.
The top 11 sides on the rankings are all part of the World Cup, while the Netherlands are placed 14th. This is the first time 12 teams are part of the Women’s T20 World Cup, up from the previous 10.
