Namibia opener Jan Frylinck hit the highest individual men’s T20I score for his country during a 2026 T20 World Cup Africa Qualifiers match against Nigeria on Sunday (September 28).

Batting first, Namibia made their third-highest total (235-6) in men’s T20Is, just two days after registering a national record of 241-5 against Kenya. At the forefront of their batting blitzkrieg was 31-year-old opener Frylinck, who hit a stunning century. He finished with a 65-ball 134, hitting 15 fours and six sixes.
Frylinck became only the fifth Namibian batter to score a men’s T20I hundred. His 134 is now the highest individual score for Namibia, beating JJ Smit’s 111 not out against Kenya from their record-breaking innings two days back.
Frylinck’s 132-run stand with Louren Steenkamp, who hit a 27-ball 51, is also the second-highest partnership for Namibia in T20Is. It fell just short of the 135-run stand between Malan Kruger and Jan Nicol Loftie-Eaton against Nepal in 2024.
His blazing innings came just 10 days after he hit the joint-third-fastest fifty in men’s T20Is, off just 13 balls – in a match against Zimbabwe in Bulawayo. Austria’s Mirza Ahsan (v Luxembourg, 2019), Turkey’s Muhammad Fahad (v Bulgaria, 2025), and Zimbabwe’s Tadiwanashe Marumani (v Gambia, 2024) are among the other players to have scored a men’s T20I fifty in 13 balls.
The fastest and second-fastest fifties in men's T20Is belong to Nepal’s Dipendra Singh Airee (9 balls v Mongolia, 2023) and India’s Yuvraj Singh (12 balls v England, 2007).
Namibia register third-biggest win by runs
In response, Nigeria managed 118-9 in 20 overs, succumbing to a 117-run defeat. Loftie-Eaton was the pick of the Namibian bowlers with figures of 3-24. The result was the third instance of Namibia winning a men’s T20I by over 100 runs. Their record margin – 136 runs – came against Kenya on Saturday.
