Shadab Khan starred for Lancashire in their thrilling win over Derbyshire in the T20 Blast on Wednesday, July 2, at the County Ground in Derby.

Shadab Khan steers Lancashire to third consecutive T20 Blast win

Just a week after joining Lancashire as an injury replacement for Chris Green, the Pakistan all-rounder helped them to their fourth win of the season, and a third consecutive victory. Shadab scored a quickfire 22-ball 58, before picking up three wickets to help his side pip Derbyshire by a slender margin of four runs.

Walking out to bat at six with the score reading 116-4 in the 14th over, Shadab had his task cut out. He got along with Ben McDermott to stitch together 66 runs across the next 26 deliveries to help the visitors get to the 200-run milestone and finish at 205. McDermott, at the other end, scored 68 off 40 deliveries.

Just as it seemed enough for the day, Shadab was back with the ball in hand. He sent back Derbyshire skipper Aneurin Donald, who was batting on 88, and managed three wickets in total to stop Derbyshire at 201.

Having played for Sussex and Yorkshire in the previous seasons of the T20 Blast, Shadab landed at Old Trafford two weeks after winning the National T20 Cup 2026 final with the Abbottabad Region, where he took two wickets. Overall, he picked up 11 wickets in six matches in the tournament. Moreover, Shadab was also the third-highest wicket taker in the 2026 Pakistan Super League with 17 wickets across 10 innings at 14.47 each and an economy rate of 7.02.

In 69 T20I innings so far, Shadab has scored 1,009 runs striking at 144.14. To add to that, he also has 123 wickets with three four-wicket hauls under his belt. Along with his batting and bowling prowess, the T20 veteran is also known to be a live wire in the field.
