Pakistan announced their squad for the 2026 Women's T20 World Cup on Saturday (May 16).
Five Pakistan players set for maiden T20 World Cup appearance
Pakistan's squad has been announced for the global tournament, as well as their T20I tri-series against Ireland and West Indies in Ireland just before they head to England. Their three-T20I bilateral series against Zimbabwe ended last night, as captain Fatima Sana's world-record 15-ball half-century lifted them to 223-4 and eventually a 133-run win which put the series scoreline at 3-0.
Fatima will lead Pakistan for the second T20 World Cup in a row, the last edition in 2024 being her first assignment as full-time skipper of the side.
Five players – Eyman Fatima, Natalia Pervaiz, Rameen Shamim, Saira Jabeen and Tasmia Rubab – could make their first on-field appearance at a T20 World Cup. Pervaiz and Rubab were part of the 2018 and 2024 T20 World Cup squads respectively but did not play a match, while the other three have been named in a squad for the first time. Eyman, Pervaiz and Shamim were also part of the 2025 ODI World Cup squad last year.
