Dhruv Jurel smashed his sixth first-class hundred, scoring 141* to lift India A to 452-6 before they declared on the second day of the first unofficial Test against Sri Lanka A.
Dhruv Jurel, the India A captain, resumed the day on 68 not out and reached his century from 181 balls shortly after lunch. He remained unbeaten on 141 from 215 deliveries, an innings that included 13 fours and a six, before the visitors declared.
India A had ended the opening day on 333-4, with Sai Sudharsan scoring a century. His knock of 132 was made in 175 balls, with 19 fours.

Coming in at No. 5 with the score at 181-3, Jurel added 136 runs for the fifth wicket with Shaik Rasheed, who made 63. He then shared an unbroken 86-run stand with Harsh Dubey for the sixth wicket. Sri Lanka A ended the day on 113-2, still trailing by 339 runs.
The century was Jurel's sixth in first-class cricket. In 35 matches, he has scored 2,471 runs at an average of 56.15, with a highest score of 249 against Nagaland in the 2022 Ranji Trophy.
The 25-year-old has also represented India A against Australia A and South Africa A over the last year. He has played 10 Tests for India, scoring 478 runs, including his maiden Test hundred against the West Indies in 2025.
It was his first red-ball ton this year, albeit in three matches, with it also being his first century in 20 innings across formats. Jurel's last hundred in any professional game was a knock of 123 in the Vijay Hazare Trophy in January 2026.
The two teams were earlier embroiled in a 50-over tri-series, also featuring Afghanistan A. India A clinched the series, beating Sri Lanka A by 66 runs, with the summit clash being headlined by Vaibhav Sooryavanshi’s 11-ball fifty, the fastest List A half-century. The second Test between the two sides will be played on July 2, also at Galle.
