Zimbabwe defeated Bangladesh in the preceding ODI series 2-1, in what was their first bilateral encounter in nearly four years. The hosts clinched the first two games of the series in Harare before Bangladesh bounced back to take the last game. However, the series loss affected Bangladesh’s chances of direct qualification for the 2027 ODI World Cup, as they lost crucial points.
The three T20Is will be played in Bulawayo between July 15 and 19. Zimbabwe will be led by Sikandar Raza, while Towhid Hridoy will captain the visiting side. Bangladesh have won just one of their last four bilateral T20I series, while Zimbabwe’s last T20I series win against a Full-Member side was back in February 2025.
