ZIM vs BAN 2026 one-off Test: Team news
Richard Ngarava will lead Zimbabwe for the first time in Test cricket for the gmae. Zimbabwe last played a Test match back in October 2025 against Afghanistan, and won by an innings and 73 runs. Craig Ervine, who led them in that Test, stepped down from the role in December last year. Meanwhile, Sikandar Raza is a notable absentee from the squad as he has been granted permission to play in the T20 Blast for Worcestershire.
Moreover, the hosts have also recalled five players who weren’t part of the Afghanistan clash. Innocent Kaia, Graeme Cremer, Tadiwanashe Marumani, Wesley Madhevere and Newman Nyamhuri have been picked after strong performances in domestic cricket.
As for Bangladesh, they will miss Litton Das, who sustained a calf injury. However, he will feature in the following ODI series but remains available for the one-off Test.
Towhid Hridoy has earned a Test call-up and is likely to make his debut in the format as well, having already played 53 ODIs and 62 T20Is for Bangladesh. The visitors have also included an uncapped pacer, Robiul Haque, in the squad.
