vs

- 1st Innings England Women 1st Innings ENG-W
- 2nd Innings India Women 2nd Innings IND-W
In the chase, Lauren Bell and Nat Sciver-Brunt set the tone by bowling tight lines and lengths. Bell, in particular, was really good with the new ball. Once England Women introduced the spinners, India found it hard to milk in some runs and the pressure just got big on India, who were bundled out with not much on the board.
England Women put on a solid performance with the bat and that kept them one step ahead of India Women right in the first innings. Nat Sciver-Brunt's wonderful century seal the deal while her partnership with Emma Lamb killed the momentum of the game.
For India, Richa Ghosh and Jemimah Rodrigues were batting brilliantly, with the latter crossing her fifty and Ghosh forming a fine partnership. Without Mandhana and Kaur, India needed someone else to step up however, Ghosh's run out changed the momentum and trajectory of the game. India fell like a pack of cards with no one apart from Deepti Sharma hanging in the middle.
No more participation from the injured player and there's absent hurt written against the name of Arundhati Reddy.
A fantastic performance from England Women and they have started the World Cup campaign on a high. A victory against the home team in the warm-ups will give them a huge boost. The match was well poised at one point but we feel the run out of Richa Ghosh changed the course of the game.
Since Arundhati Reddy picked up an injury early on while the home side was out in the field, she won't be coming out to bat and India Women have decided not to send any other pacer in place of her. This marks the end of the contest with England Women winning this by 153 runs.
Linsey Smith to Sree Charani
OUT! CAUGHT BEHIND! Short and wide outside off, Sree Charani slashes hard at it, gets a faint edge that's been taken well by Amy Jones behind the stumps. Arundhati Reddy will not be taking the field because of her knee injury early on. England Women have won this warm-up contest by 153 runs.
Linsey Smith to Sree Charani
SIX! A biggie for Sree Charani and where has that come from? The Indian spinner is having some fun out in the middle. Tossed up aide of off, Sree Charani jumps down the track, gets close to the pitch of the delivery and looks to smash this out of the park. Gets the bat tilted in her hands but the ball has got enough wings to sail over the fence towards the right of sweeper cover for six.
Linsey Smith to Sree Charani
Fuller and wide outside off, Sree Charani looks to help this past backward point with a cut but misses out yet again.
Linsey Smith to Sree Charani
Fuller around off, Sree Charani looks to cut this as well btu the ball keeps a tad low and Sree is beaten on the outside.
Linsey Smith to Sree Charani
FOUR! Pushed through a lot quicker arond off, Sree Charani helps this using the pace towards the left of short third for a boundary behind the stumps on off.
Linsey Smith to Sree Charani
Floated full on off, Sree Charani cuts this well but straight to the fielder at point.
Lauren Filer to Sree Charani
Short and wide outside off, Sree Charani plays it away from her body and cuts this to deep third for another single.
Lauren Filer to Renuka Singh Thakur
On a length around the pads, Renuka Singh Thakur moves towards her leg, opens the face of her bat and guides this to deep third for one.
That is all from this game. Not the start India were looking for in the campaign but without Mandhana and Kaur it was always going to be hard. The warm-up matches keep on coming. Do check the tabs for the next game. From here, it's goodbye and cheers.
