Biography
Parvez Hossain Emon is a promising left-handed batter from Bangladesh known for his aggressive strokeplay at the top of the order. With a naturally attacking mindset and flair, he's often drawn comparisons to some of the more flamboyant openers in the modern game. Emon made his First-class debut in 2020, followed by his List A and T20 debuts in the same year. His T20 debut was particularly memorable - he smashed a blistering 100 off just 42 balls in the Bangabandhu T20 Cup, which was, at the time, the fastest century by a Bangladeshi in T20 cricket. A product of the U-19 setup, he was part of the squad that lifted the ICC U-19 World Cup in 2020. Over the years, he has been a consistent performer in the Dhaka Premier League and National Cricket League, often giving his team rapid starts in the powerplay.
He made his T20I debut for Bangladesh in 2022. While still relatively early in his international journey, Emon has been part of Bangladesh’s plans in white-ball formats, particularly when looking for dynamic top-order options. His ability to dominate spin and pace alike makes him a strong contender in subcontinental conditions.
Emon has featured in the Bangladesh Premier League (BPL), representing franchises like Fortune Barishal and Comilla Victorians. He played a role in Comilla's title-winning campaign in the BPL and has gradually earned a reputation for being a dangerous player in the Powerplay. Although yet to feature in overseas T20 leagues, his performances in the BPL and domestic circuit have kept him in the conversation as one of Bangladesh’s exciting T20 prospects.
