Biography

Polly Margot Inglis is a talented right-handed batter and skilled wicket keeper from New Zealand. She represents the national team and plays domestic cricket for Otago. Her journey began quite early when she made both her List A and T20 debuts for Otago against Auckland in November 2012. Over the years, she established herself as a vital part of her domestic team in competitions like the Hallyburton Johnstone Shield and the Super Smash.

Her consistent hard work in domestic cricket eventually led to significant rewards. A standout performance came during the 2023 to 2024 Hallyburton Johnstone Shield season where she finished as the second-highest run getter. This impressive display caught the attention of the selectors and earned her a maiden central contract from New Zealand Cricket in June 2024. Later that year she celebrated a major personal milestone by playing her 100th List A match for the Otago Sparks on 30 November 2024.

The momentum from her domestic success quickly translated into international opportunities. In October 2024, she received her very first call-up to the national team for an ODI series against India. She soon made her official international debut the following year. She played her first ODI match against Sri Lanka on 4 March 2025 and followed it up with her T20 debut against the same opponent on 14 March 2025.

Her career continued to progress steadily as she was named in the New Zealand A squad to face England A in June 2025. That same month she was rewarded with another central contract for the 2025 to 2026 season. Armed with this continued support she entered 2026 as a highly valued member of the national setup. Throughout 2026, she reliably balanced her wicket-keeping and batting duties for Otago while building a strong foundation for her future with the New Zealand national squad.
