Biography
Ravi Singh’s rise through the domestic circuit has been a story of rapid progression and explosive batting, making him one of the most exciting wicketkeeper-batters to watch. Born on May 25, 2001, in Varanasi, Uttar Pradesh, the left-handed top/middle-order batter first caught attention with his aggressive strokeplay and ability to maintain a high strike rate across formats. After making his T20 and List A debuts for Railways in late 2024, Singh truly announced himself in the 2025/26 domestic season, where he combined consistency with flair to emerge as a standout performer.
He finished as Railways’ highest run-scorer in the Vijay Hazare Trophy 2025/26, amassing 354 runs in just five matches, highlighted by a superb unbeaten 109 against Haryana, his maiden List A century. His form extended into the Syed Mushtaq Ali Trophy, where he smashed 218 runs in seven games at a striking rate of 173.01, underlining his T20 credentials. Singh also made a strong impression in the UP T20 League 2025, scoring 208 runs in 10 matches at a strike rate exceeding 160. Adding another feather to his cap, he made his first-class debut in the Ranji Trophy 2025/26 against Gujarat and narrowly missed out on a century with a brilliant 98, showcasing his red-ball potential as well.
These performances culminated in a breakthrough moment when Rajasthan Royals secured his services for INR 95 lakh ahead of the IPL 2026 season following a bidding war, signaling strong belief in his potential. With his dual ability as a wicketkeeper and a dynamic batter, Singh brings versatility and attacking intent, and he now stands on the cusp of translating his domestic success onto the IPL stage.
