Biography

Shweta Sehrawat announced herself as one of India’s most exciting young batting talents with a blend of elegance, power, and an uncanny ability to dominate bowlers in key moments.

A product of Delhi’s strong domestic system, Shweta began her senior domestic journey as a teenager, making her mark across List A, First-class, and T20 formats with a growing reputation for aggressive, yet composed batting. She made her maiden List-A hundred in 2021, against Meghalaya. Her 2023–24 Senior Women’s One Day Trophy campaign was a standout, where she finished as the leading run-scorer with 462 runs in eight innings, highlighted by an unbeaten 242 off 150 balls against Nagaland - the highest individual score in Indian women’s List A history, powering Delhi to one of their most dominant victories.

Shweta’s rise to prominence on the international stage came through age-group cricket, where she was vice-captain of India’s victorious team in the 2023 ICC Under-19 Women’s T20 World Cup. She finished as the tournament’s leading run-scorer with 297 runs at an exceptional average of 99.00, including a dazzling unbeaten 92 against South Africa and other key contributions in the semis and group stages. Her leadership credentials were also evident earlier when she captained India B to the Women’s Under-19 Challenger Trophy title and led the India U-19 side to a 5-0 series win over New Zealand U-19s. While she is yet to make her senior India debut, her performances have made her one of the most closely watched uncapped talents in the country.

In franchise cricket, Shweta has been a key figure for UP Warriorz in the Women’s Premier League since being added in the inaugural auction. She has anchored the middle order with important contributions across seasons and was the only player the franchise chose to retain ahead of the 2026 mega auction, underlining their faith in her potential. Calm, powerful, and consistently eyeing big scores, Shweta Sehrawat represents the new generation of Indian batting talent poised to leave a significant mark on the women’s game.
