Biography
Steve Rixon is a former wicket keeper and a key lower order batsman for New South Wales. The Aussie has already coached New Zealand (1996 to 1999), New South Wales, Chennai Super Kings, Surrey. Rixon was reportedly interested to coach the Australian team after Buchanan but Tim Nielsen took over. Later in 2011, he was appointed as fielding coach of Australia replacing Mike Young. He was also appointed as temporary Australian coach for the UAE tour of 2012 while working with the team for the ODIs in place of Australian coach Mickey Arthur who was preparing for the 2012 World T20 meanwhile.
