Biography

Born in Andhra Pradesh, India, Tarun Nethula has honed all of his cricketing skills in New Zealand where he switched over at the age of 12. He helped Auckland lift the State Championship in his debut first-class season of 2008-09 with his crafty leg spinners as he ended as the top wicket-taker.

Auckland couldn’t produce more out of him in the next season and hence, Tarun decided to move to Central Districts before the start of the 2010-11 season. It helped as he performed consistently for the side in all formats and was hence selected for the New Zealand ODI squad to play against Zimbabwe at home in 2012. Later that year, he was also named in the Test squad for their series against West Indies.
