Biography
A skilful slow left-arm orthodox spinner who thrives on control and wicket-taking bursts, Tilly Corteen-Coleman has quickly emerged as one of England’s most exciting young bowling prospects, capable of dictating the middle overs while also producing game-changing spells. Born on 23 August 2007 in Canterbury, Kent, Corteen-Coleman is a left-handed batter and specialist bowler who rose rapidly through England’s age-group pathway before breaking into the senior domestic circuit at a remarkably young age.
Corteen-Coleman made her county debut for Kent in April 2024, immediately showcasing her control with a tidy spell. She soon stepped up to the regional level with South East Stars, having progressed through their academy, and made her senior debut in the Charlotte Edwards Cup the same year. Her breakthrough moment came in that very competition, where she produced a stunning four wickets in four balls - a rare feat that instantly put her on the radar as a high-impact bowler.
Across the 2024 season, she featured regularly for South East Stars in both the Rachael Heyhoe Flint Trophy and Charlotte Edwards Cup, finishing with 25 wickets across formats, including a standout five-wicket haul (5/19). Her ability to combine control with attacking intent has been a defining trait early in her career, often operating as a middle-overs enforcer who can both contain and strike in clusters.
Corteen-Coleman has been a key part of England’s age-group setup, representing the national side at the Under-19 level and making a strong impact, including a match-winning spell of 4/8 in the ICC Women’s Under-19 T20 World Cup. Her rapid development was rewarded with a call-up to England’s senior squad for the 2026 Women's T20 World Cup, despite not yet making her international debut, a clear indication of the faith in her ability and long-term potential.
