Till date, there have been only two families with three generations of men’s Test cricketers. Incredibly, they spanned two Test-playing nations in each case. Indian Test cricketer Jahangir Khan’s son Majid and grandson Bazid both played for Pakistan; and while Caribbean legend George Headley’s son Ron did play for the West Indies, grandson Dean represented England.

Vic Richardson and the Chappell brothers, Denis and Nick Compton, Maurice and Chris Tremlett are examples of grandfathers and grandsons playing Test cricket. In William Cooper’s case, it skipped two generations: his great-grandson Paul Sheahan played Test cricket.
