Nottinghamshire won the County Championship in 2025, ending Surrey’s streak of three consecutive titles to an end. It was their seventh title and their first since 2010.

The battle for relegation became close in Division One. With 103 points, Worcestershire finished at the bottom by a distance, but Durham (144) ended a solitary point behind Hampshire (145), and will be part of Division Two in 2026. They will be replaced by Leicestershire and Glamorgan in Division One.
