In this quiz, you have to answer ten questions on England-Zimbabwe cricket as well as cricketers with links to both nations.

Zimbabwe became independent in 1980, played their first World Cup in 1983 in England, and stunned England in the 1992 World Cup. That year, they became an ICC Full Member – England were the only ones to vote against them – and played their first Test match.

In 1996, England arrived in Zimbabwe for the first ever Test series between the sides. England needed three runs to win off the last ball of the first Test, but got only two. As a result, the two teams produced the first ever instance of a drawn Test where both sides finished on the same score. England coach David Lloyd’s reaction – “we flippin’ murdered them” – became the talk of the cricketing fraternity.

Since then, the two teams have met – and not met – across formats. England opted out of the 2003 World Cup match between the teams in Zimbabwe, while Zimbabwe were not present at the 2009 T20 World Cup in England. Two former Zimbabwe captains have coached England. Two sons of a Zimbabwean cricketer have played for England, while a third son has played for Zimbabwe.
