Madan Lal took 71 wickets in Test cricket and 73 in ODIs. The latter included two famous spells in the 1983 World Cup: 4-20 against Australia at Chelmsford to help India qualify for the semi-final, and 3-31 in an iconic Indian triumph in the final. In the latter, he dismissed Desmond Haynes, Viv Richards, and Larry Gomes.
