By now 148 years old, Test cricket rarely sees many firsts, or long-standing records being broken. But one of the most basic ones of all is now under threat; in July 2025, an English batter moved into second place for the most runs in the history of the game, and breaking the record is far from impossible.

Quiz! Broken jaw, bruised ribs – how well do you know these iconic cricket performances amidst pain?

Fifteen players have scored over 10,000 runs in Test cricket, and 21 others have scored over 8,000. Your task in this quiz is to name all of them – but in the correct order.

When prompted with their run tally, you have to enter the corresponding player's name. Their primary team, and the span of their career are also provided to help you out. You will not be able to move forward until you enter the correct player each time.

You have six minutes' time to name these 36 players in order. The top five contains two players from India, and one each from England, Australia and South Africa. Can you get through the full list?
