The first Test match was played in Australia, in 1877. England joined the fray in 1880. South Africa, later that decade. The West Indies, New Zealand, and India became ICC Full Members in 1926: within eight years, all of them hosted Test matches.

In all, 123 venues have hosted men’s Test cricket, the most recent of them being in Ireland from July 25, 2024. Of the ICC Full Members, Afghanistan have not hosted a Test yet, but matches have been played in four grounds in the UAE.
