In this quiz, you have to answer ten questions on unusual cricket teams.

At the Lord’s Old Ground in 1810, a team called The Bs took field against a side called “England” (the rest of England, presumably). The Bs got their name from the first letter of the name of every cricketer of their side. However, they had to include John Wells and James Lawrell in their XI: perhaps they could find only nine authentic Bs.

The Bs secured a 37-run lead in the first innings but were shot out for only six runs in the second (Wells made four of these and Lawrell one: the only B to score a run in this innings was Samuel Bridger). This remains the lowest all-out total in the history of first-class cricket.
