T20 isn’t all about batters; the slam-bang nature of the format gives the bowlers an opportunity to snare wickets in a cluster. A hat-trick is a seemingly rare occurrence, but the IPL has seen 23 taken across its 12 seasons. Barring 2015, 2018, 2020 and 2024, there has been at least one hat-trick in each of the seasons.

Only one player has taken three hat-tricks in the IPL. He also played for India, and announced his retirement from all professional cricket on September 4, 2025. One bowler, normally picked as an all-rounder, took two in the same season in 2009. The third player with multiple IPL hat-tricks to his name took them in 2022 and 2025.
