There were 45 different players with a five-wicket haul in Tests in 2024. Of them, an India fast-bowler rules the roost with as many as five five-fors. He finished that year with 71 Test wickets at 14.92, at a strike-rate of 30.1, earning him the ICC Player of the Year award. No bowler in the history of Test cricket has taken as many wickets (205) at a better average or strike rate.

The second-most number of five-wicket hauls (4) that year was taken by a Sri Lanka left-arm spinner, who became the joint-fastest to 100 Test wickets, achieving the landmark in his 17th match. An Afghanistan, Ireland, and Zimbabwe bowler also feature in the list, having achieved the feat once each.

India (14) and New Zealand (11) bowlers took the most Test five-fors in 2024, followed by bowlers from South Africa (10), the 2023-25 World Test Championship finalists.
