However, from time to time, actual World XIs have taken the field against different oppositions for various reasons. Sometimes these were last-minute arrangements to make up for cancelled tours, while some contests were fundraisers. Not all of them were equally strong, but all of them supposedly represented a team that featured cricketers from “Rest of the World”.
