The seventh team to become a Full Member of the ICC, Pakistan first hosted Test cricket in 1954/55. Barring a decade (and a bit) when they were forced to play “home” Tests in Sri Lanka, England, and the UAE, Pakistan have hosted all three formats. Over the years, Pakistan have hosted international cricket in Karachi and Lahore, but also in Sargodha, Sheikhupura, Gujranwala, and Sahiwal.

Among the crowd at the Karachi Test match of 1959/60 was Dwight D Eisenhower, making him the first (and till date, only) US president to watch Test cricket at the ground. The incident remains a staple in cricket quizzes.
