The Melbourne Cricket Ground, the first stadium to host a Test match as well as the first ODI, is the second-largest cricket venue in the world in terms of capacity. It is also the home for the Boxing Day Test match in Australia for several decades now.

Despite cricket being the only sport mentioned in its official name, the MCG hosts several other sports as well, most significantly the ALF Grand Final. It was also one of the venues for the 1956 Olympics and the 2006 Commonwealth Games.
