In this quiz, you have to answer fifteen questions on the Sri Lankan cricket captains.

Cricket was popular in Sri Lanka in the 19th century, though the country used to be called Ceylon back then. The location helped in the day when cricket teams travelled by sea: touring English and Australian teams both halted there. When they did, they also played cricket. Ceylon is the only Asian country where Don Bradman has played cricket – that too not once but twice.

Ed Kelaart was the first to lead an all-Ceylon side, against an Indian team in 1932/33. They were subsequently captained by the likes of Mahadevan Sathasivam (who also led Malaysia and Singapore); Michael Tissera (whose name the Test series between Sri Lanka and the West Indies bears); and Anura Tennekoon (Sri Lanka’s first captain in World Cup cricket). Bandula Warnapura led them in their first men’s Test match, in 1982.
