Varun Chakravarthy struck in the following over to remove Muhammad Zohaib, before Waseem and Rahul Chopra attempted to rebuild from 29-2. They made it to 47, before the innings completely fell apart.

In the eighth over, Chopra chased a tossed-up delivery from Kuldeep Yadav only to hole out at long-on. Three balls later, Waseem missed a sweep shot to be trapped lbw. It was a procession of wickets thereafter, as the UAE went from 47-2 to 57 all out in the blink of an eye, with no one outside the openers making more than three. Kuldeep was the wrecker-in-chief with 4-7, while medium pacer Shivam Dube took 3-4.

India's chase was short and sharp. Abhishek Sharma hit the first ball for six, and Shubman Gill hit one of his own the following over. After Abhishek departed for 30 off 16 balls, Surya came in to hit his first delivery for six as well. Gill sealed the chase with a boundary off left-arm spinner Simranjeet Singh, giving India victory by nine wickets with 93 balls to spare. The entire match lasted just 17.4 overs, less than one full innings.

India will take on Pakistan next, on Sunday (September 14) in Dubai. UAE will be in action the following day, against Oman.
