Bangladesh’s recent two-match Test series against Zimbabwe at home ended in a draw. Here's what the series result has done to the ICC Men's Test team rankings.
The first match was won by Zimbabwe thanks to Blessing Muzarabani’s nine wickets, including figures of 6-72 in the second innings. The 28-year-old equalled Heath Streak’s national record of reaching 50 wickets in only his 11th Test. That was Zimbabwe’s first Test win since 2021, when they beat Afghanistan in Abu Dhabi. It is also their eighth in the format against Bangladesh.
The hosts, however, bounced back in the second Test, riding on an all-round performance from Mehidy Hasan Miraz.
The match was set up by left-arm spinner Taijul Islam, whose five-for triggered a collapse as Zimbabwe lost 7-40 in the first innings to be bowled out for 227. Bangladesh’s batting response was led by a 104 from Miraz, who became the joint fifth-fastest to do the 2,000 run-200 wicket double in Test cricket, taking them to 444. In the second innings, Miraz worked his magic with the ball, claiming 5-32 to skittle Zimbabwe for 111 and secure a 106-run innings victory for his team. Mehidy added to his list of red-ball records, becoming the 27th man to score a century and take five wickets in an innings in the same Test match.

Latest ICC Test team rankings after BAN vs ZIM 2025 Test series
The series was not part of the World Test Championship. The two finalists – Australia and South Africa – set to meet in June at Lord’s, remain the top two sides in the Test rankings, with India close behind. Bangladesh sit ninth, while Zimbabwe, despite winning a rare Test, continue to languish at the bottom with the lowest team rating (12).
