The 14th edition of the Caribbean Premier League will get underway on August 7, Friday. Here’s the full list of CPL 2026 captains for the seven teams.
For the first time, seven teams will feature in CPL, with a franchise from Jamaica - Jamaica Kingsmen - being added to the roster. A total of 35 matches will be played in the league stage before the top four make it to the playoffs. The final of the tournament is scheduled to take place on September 20 at the Kensington Oval in Barbados.
CPL 2026 captains: Full list of skippers for each team
Jamaica Kingsmen
Rovman Powell has been named the captain of Jamaica Kingsmen for this season. He led the Barbados Tridents in CPL 2025, with the team winning only two out of 10 matches. Powell also led the Jamaica Tallawahs before in the competition. Overall, he has led in 65 matches in CPL, winning 25 and losing 37 while three matches ended in no result.
Antigua & Barbuda Falcons
Moeen Ali takes over from Imad Wasim as the captain of Antigua & Barbuda Falcons in CPL 2026. He is leading the tournament for the first time and will be keen on taking the team a step ahead from the previous edition. Moeen has experience of leading in the T20 Blast, The Hundred and ILT20 before.
Trinbago Knight Riders
Trinbago Knight Riders have retained Nicholas Pooran as their captain, having led them to the title last year. The team will be hoping that Pooran leads them to their fourth title this time around.
St Lucia Kings
Roston Chase is back as captain of St Lucia Kings after four years, having led them back in the 2022 edition. Chase has led the West Indies in eight T20Is before, winning five and losing three. He is currently leading the West Indies Test team against Pakistan and will be keen on donning the captaincy hat for the Kings again.
St Kitts & Nevis Patriots
St Kitts & Nevis Patriots have retained Jason Holder as their captain for the upcoming season. The team failed to make it to the playoffs last season, winning only four out of 10 matches in the league stage.
Guyana Amazon Warriors
At the age of 47, Imran Tahir will lead the Guyana Amazon Warriors in CPL 2026. Under his captaincy, the Warriors made it to the final, only to lose to TKR in a low-scoring thriller. Guyana defended their Global Super League (GSL) title earlier this week, defending 85 runs, the lowest total in the final in the history of T20 cricket.
Barbados Tridents
Barbados Tridents released their captain, Rovman Powell, who is set to lead Jamaica Kingsmen this year. The franchise is yet to officially announce their captain for the upcoming edition.
