Who won the 2025 County Championship?
Nottinghamshire broke Surrey's run of three consecutive County Championship wins in 2025, and go into this season as defending champions. It was their first County Championship win since 2010, and marked a remarkable turnaround after they narrowly avoided relegation in 2024.
Which teams have been promoted and relegated?
Leicestershire and Glamorgan are the two new teams in Division One. This season will be the first time Leicestershire play in Division One since 2003, and it's the first time Glamorgan have been promoted in 21 years.
On the flipside, Durham were relegated after two years in Division One, in a thrilling final-day scramble to avoid finishing at the bottom of the pile. A disastrous collapse against Yorkshire meant they were left without a seat at the table. Worcestershire, finished comfortably bottom of the pile.
