When is CPL 2025 final, and which teams are playing?
The six-team competition began on August 14. After 33 matches, including the three playoff fixtures, we have the two finalists: the Guyana Amazon Warriors and the Trinbago Knight Riders. The final will be played on September 21 at the Providence Stadium in Guyana, starting at 8:00 pm local time.
GAW and TKR both won six and lost four matches in the group stage. A slightly better net run rate helped the former (GAW) finish second on the points table.
By virtue of finishing in the top two, GAW played Qualifier 1 against the table-toppers, Saint Lucia Kings. A 14-run win directly propelled them to the final. TKR, meanwhile, had to take a more complicated route: first beating the Antigua and Barbuda Falcons in the Eliminator, and then SLK in Qualifier 2 to secure their place in the final.
TKR are the most successful side in the competition, having lifted the trophy thrice in 2017, 2018 and 2020. Meanwhile, GAW’s sole title came in 2023.
