Tim Seifert smashed a 40-ball hundred during the 2025 Caribbean Premier League clash, equalling Andre Russell’s feat.
St Lucia Kings were up against the Antigua and Barbuda Falcons’ score of 204-4 at Gros Islet on Sunday (August 31). The Falcons were led by a fifty from opener Amir Jangoo (56 in 43), but it was Shakib Al Hasan’s 26-ball 61 down the order that provided impetus to the innings.
The Kings lost opener Johnson Charles in the third over, but Seifert kept the innings going: he smashed 24 in nine deliveries, and then went on to score his fifty in 18 just 18. Seifert hit Shakib for three fours and two sixes in the sixth over, also bringing up his half-century in the process.
The New Zealand wicketkeeper stitched together a 64-run stand with Ackeem Auguste, in which the latter only contributed with a 15-ball 19. Seifert got his hundred soon after, getting to the milestone in just 12.3 overs.

Tim Seifert equals Andre Russell with 40-ball ton
His 40-ball ton is the joint-fastest in CPL history, along with Russell, who had made a hundred in as many balls in 2018. Playing against the Trinbago Knight Riders, Jamaica Tallawahs’ Russell scored 121* in 49 balls after his team had been reduced to 41-5 in the run chase of 224.
On Sunday, Seifert, who finished on 125* off 53, too played a lone hand: No one else on his side crossed 25, but his efforts were enough to propel his team to second place in the points table.
