Mohammad Amir has become the fourth fastest bowler in history to take 400 T20 wickets, achieving the feat by dismissing Fabien Allen in the CPL yesterday (August 21).

The Pakistan quick is currently playing for Trinbago Knight Riders in the Caribbean Premier League, and starred in his second match of the competition against Antigua and Barbuda Falcons. After the Falcons were reduced to 77-5, Imad Wasim and Fabien Allen put on a recovery partnership that reached 69 off 30.
Allen was on 45 off 20, having dismantled Usman Tariq in particular with a flurry of sixes, when Amir struck to break the partnership. He served Allen a full ball, inviting the big shot but forcing Allen to reach well away from his body. Having not middled it, Darren Bravo settled comfortably underneath it on the long on boundary to take the catch.
That wicket took Amir to 400 total career T20 wickets, having played 343 matches since making his debut in 2008. Only three players have taken fewer games to reach 400 T20 wickets, and only one from Pakistan. Rashid Khan tops the list as the only player to have taken 400 wickets in fewer than 300 games, while Wahab Riaz took the fewest games of any fast-bowler (335).
Despite Amir's key breakthrough, Trinbago Knight Riders ultimately fell short in the chase. Colin Munro hit 44 off 18 at the top of the innings, while Kieron Pollard hit 43 off 28 at the end of the innings. However, Pollard's efforts weren't quite enough to get the side over the line, Shamar Springer defending 14 off the final over to seal the result margin of eight runs.
