East Zone and South Zone will lock horns in the Duleep Trophy final in Chennai, starting Sunday, September 6. Here are the TV channels and live streaming details for the clash.
East Zone will be riding high on confidence after back-to-back victories over North East Zone and Central Zone. The spotlight will be on Vaibhav Sooryavanshi and Mohammed Shami. While the former registered scores of 92 and 40 in the semifinal against Central Zone, Mohammed Shami found some form with a five-wicket match haul after going wicketless in the quarterfinal.
South Zone, meanwhile, will be without KL Rahul and Vidwath Kaverappa, but the inclusions of Mohammed Siraj and Devdutt Padikkal, who have joined for the final after the Test series against Sri Lanka, will be a boost for South Zone’s chances. They bagged a comfortable victory in the semifinal against the North Zone as skipper Tilak Varma registered a hundred and a fifty and remained unbeaten in both the innings.
The final, which was initially scheduled to be played at BCCI’s Centre of Excellence, was shifted to the MA Chidambaram Stadium in Chennai to encourage fans to watch the game live. The match will be played across five days, with the scheduled start time being 9:30am IST.
Out of seven appearances in the final, East Zone have bagged two titles, while South Zone have won 14 out of their 25, with two shared titles.
