England clinched a thrilling win against India at Lord’s to go 2-1 up in the 2025 Anderson-Tendulkar Trophy. Here's what the 2025-27 World Test Championship points table looks like after the third England-India Test.
In a rare instance, both sides were tied on their first-innings scores of 387 after nearly three days of play. England batters survived a fiery passage of play later that day, but India bounced back strongly, bowling the hosts out for 192 in their second innings.
Chasing a modest target, India stumbled to 58-4 by stumps on day four. On the final day, Jofra Archer ignited another India collapse, dismissing Rishabh Pant for nine and Washington Sundar for a duck in a tight spell, while Ben Stokes removed the set first-innings centurion KL Rahul for 39. India lost three wickets for just 23 runs on the morning of day five. A brief partnership between Ravindra Jadeja and Nitish Kumar Reddy and then two long partnerships between Jadeja and Bumrah, and Jadeja and Siraj offered hope, but it ended in heartbreak for the visitors as a perfectly middled defensive shot by Siraj trickled onto the stumps, leaving them 21 short of England.
