Lord’s is set to host a women’s Test for the first time in its 142-year history. It will be a historic occasion when England and India players take the field on Friday, with play scheduled to start at 11am local time (3.30pm IST) on each of the four days of the Test.
The one-off Test will also mark the end of a long tour of the UK for India. The two teams faced each other in a three-match T20I series, which England won 2-1, followed by the T20 World Cup, where England made it to the final but lost to Australia, while India exited from the group stage.
England will also be eager to give a winning farewell to Tammy Beaumont, who has announced her retirement from international cricket at the end of this Test.
