ENG-W vs IND-W 2026 one-off Test: Team news and injury updates
England are set for an emotional roller-coaster this week as their veteran batter Tammy Beaumont has announced her international retirement after this Test. She was not a part of the recently concluded T20 World Cup where England finished as runners-up, losing the final to Australia at Lord’s.
The hosts have also named five uncapped players - Alice Capsey, Tilly Corteen-Coleman, Mady Villiers, Grace Potts and Ellie Threlkeld - in their squad. Sophia Dunkley, Danni Wyatt-Hodge and Ryana MacDonald-Gay featured in England’s last Test against Australia at the MCG in the 2024-25 Ashes but have been left out this time.
Meanwhile, India have been dealt a huge blow with Pratika Rawal getting ruled out of the Test. She sustained a knee injury last week while playing for India A in a one-day game against England A. Priya Punia has replaced her in the squad.
Uma Chetry and Vaishnavi Sharma are the two players miss out from India’s Test squad that last played against Australia. Nandani Sharma and Shree Charani have both received their maiden Test call-up while Renuka Singh and Yastika Bhatia have made their comeback.
