England vs Ireland ODIs: Team news

England’s regular skipper Nat Sciver-Brunt has been rested for the three-match ODI series against Ireland, and Charlie Dean will handle the captaincy duties. Sciver-Brunt has been battling a calf injury since the summer, and also missed the first three matches of the T20 World Cup and a some part of The Hundred.

Alongside Sciver-Brunt, the hosts have chosen to rest Dani-Wyatt Hodge, Amy Jones, Sophie Ecclestone and Lauren Bell, with the looking to test their bench strength.

Ireland will continue to be led by Gabi Lewis. However, Alana Dalzell, Sarah Forbes and Aimee Maguire will miss out on the three-match series due to injuries. Alice Tector and Arlene Kelly return after having gained full fitness.

After being whitewashed by West Indies Ireland in a three-match ODI series earlier this year, this will be Ireland's second assignment in the ongoing Women’s Championship cycle, which will determine qualification for the 2029 ODI World Cup.
