England sealed a lopsided Test series, winning the three matches by an innings and 103 runs, 194 runs, and eight wickets, respectively. There were wholesale changes made to the Pakistan squad and the coaching staff ahead of the last Test, making it one of the most chaotic Test tours of England for any side.
Pakistan couldn't get past the 200-run mark for the fifth time this series in the first innings at Edgbaston, getting bowled out for 133 inside two sessions. They changed that in the second innings, however, scoring 449, riding on fifties from Azan Awais, Shan Masood, Babar Azam and Razaullah, the fast-bowling debutant who stole the show with his lower-order hitting.
England had batted Pakistan out of the game with a strong showing in the first innings, taking a 320-run lead as five of their batters scored half-centuries. Handed 130 to win the match, they endured a tough start with Mohammad Abbas sending openers Ben Duckett and Emilio Gay back in the first over. But Joe Root and Jordan Cox both scored respective fifties after missing out in the first innings to see England through.
