West Indies tour of England 2025: Team news | ENG vs WI Women
This series marks the beginning of a new era for England under newly appointed head coach Charlotte Edwards and captain Nat Sciver-Brunt. Several key players have been omitted or recalled from England's squads, and the West Indies have also made notable changes following their failure to qualify for the upcoming 50-over World Cup.
Sophie Ecclestone has been left out of England’s squad, with Edwards confirming the spinner is “physically not quite at 100 per cent yet” following a knee injury. Left-arm spinner Linsey Smith has been included after an impressive start to the domestic summer. Uncapped seamer Emily Arlott has also earned a call-up in both formats, while Tammy Beaumont returns to the T20I squad in addition to retaining her place in the ODI squad. Fast bowler Issy Wong has been recalled alongside all-rounder Alice Davidson-Richards, with injuries keeping out Freya Kemp, Dani Gibson, and Lauren Filer.

West Indies will tour England without veteran all-rounder Deandra Dottin, who sustained an injury during the Women’s Premier League in March. Dottin did not feature during the recent ICC World Cup Qualifier, where the Caribbean side failed to secure a place at the upcoming 50-over tournament. Also missing out are Chinelle Henry, who picked up a leg injury in the final of the T20 Blaze in the Caribbean, and Rashada Williams, who did not appear beyond the warm-up matches at the World Cup Qualifier in Pakistan.
Replacing them are two uncapped players: Realeanna Grimmond, a 20-year-old all-rounder who stood out in the T20 Blaze final with 46 off 53 balls, and Jahzara Claxton, a 19-year-old seamer who featured in the West Indies U19 World Cup squad.
