Pakistan are scheduled to play all their T20 World Cup 2026 group-stage matches in Colombo. Here’s the weather forecast for their first game, against the Netherlands.

The T20 World Cup 2026 starts on Saturday, February 7, with Pakistan taking on the Netherlands at the Sinhalese Sports Club Ground in Colombo. They are also scheduled to face the USA, India and Namibia in Sri Lanka’s capital city, but rain could play spoilsport during their campaign.

The Pakistan team was stationed in Colombo for the 2025 Women’s World Cup as well, where rain forced three of their games to be abandoned, while affecting a couple other.

This time around, however, the stakes are even higher with the Pakistan government deciding that the men’s team will not take the field against India on February 15, making their other three games even more crucial.

What is the weather forecast for Pakistan vs Netherlands T20 World Cup 2026 match?

As per BBC Weather, there’s a 37 per cent chance of rain at 10.30am - the scheduled time for the toss - in Colombo on February 7. The good news is that the likelihood decreases slightly, with 18 per cent chance of showers at 11.30am, half an hour after the game’s scheduled start time, and up until 1.30pm. The chances range between 22 to 28 per cent between 2.30 and 4.30pm.

Accuweather predicts much better weather closer to the start of the game, with just a 5 per cent chance of showers at 11am. But that increases to 60 per cent at 1pm and further to 68 per cent an hour later. There’s a 66 per cent chance of rain at 3pm as well, and the forecast only gets better after 4pm, which doesn’t bode well for Pakistan.

Weather.com has predicted just a 7 per cent chance of rain at 10.30am, which reaches a maximum of 20 per cent at 1.30pm. However, there is a 50 to 53 per cent chance of rain between 2.30 and 4.30pm, with reports of scattered thunderstorms as well, signalling that the second half of the game could be affected.
