Nepal's Dipendra Singh Airee runs between the wickets in front of the camera

Nepal posted their first win in a T20 World Cup since 2014, New Zealand and Zimbabwe qualified for Super Eights, while Australia were eliminated, on Day 11 of T20 World Cup 2026. Here are the points tables after Tuesday’s action.

T20 World Cup 2026: Day eleven recap

New Zealand vs Canada

In the Group D match in Chennai, Canada batted first, and teenage opener Yuvraj Samra made full use of the helpful conditions to notch a first T20I hundred. He broke several records with the knock, including becoming the first associate player and overall the youngest centurion in T20 World Cups. Canada posted 173, thanks largely to Samra.

New Zealand sailed through the chase, with Glenn Phillips slamming 76 runs off 36 deliveries to take them home in 15.1 overs. The win saw them qualify for the Super Eights, where they will face Sri Lanka, England and one of Pakistan and the USA.

Zimbabwe vs Ireland

A lot was riding on the Zimbabwe vs Ireland encounter in Pallekele, with Australia’s fate directly linked with the match’s outcome. The 2021 T20 World Cup champions were hoping that Ireland would keep their hopes alive with a win.

But not a single delivery was bowled due to incessant rain, and the match was eventually called off. Zimbabwe moved to five points and qualified for the Super Eights, knocking Australia out, and marked their best-ever finish in the T20 World Cup already.

Nepal vs Scotland

Scotland batted first in this Group C match in Mumbai and were well placed at 132-1 in the 16th over. But they lost five wickets for 30 runs and could only finish on 170-7. Michael Jones top-scored with a 45-ball 71, but his dismissal triggered a collapse, with Sompal Kami picking up two more wickets in a super second spell to finish with figures of 3-25.

Nepal openers got off to a flyer, knocking off 56 runs in the powerplay, including a 23-run fifth over. They faltered when Michael Leask removed the top three batters to pull the game back, but captain Dipendra Singh Airee completed a whirlwind 23-ball fifty to take Nepal home in the last over.
