West Indies beat Zimbabwe by 107 runs in their first Super Eights game of the T20 World Cup. Here's what that result has done to the points table.

West Indies nearly break T20 World Cup record in Zimbabwe win

Zimbabwe skipper Sikandar Raza won the toss and elected to field first in Mumbai. Richard Ngarava and Blessing Muzarabani started well, keeping the score to 29-1 in four overs, which also included the dropped chance of Shimron Hetmyer.

West Indies ended the Powerplay on 55-2, but that was when Hetmyer took off. The No.3 was ruthless on spinners Raza and Graeme Cremer, making his way to a 19-ball half-century as the Windies made 60 in the four overs post-Powerplay.

There were then back-to-back 19-run overs off Dion Myers and Brad Evans, and Hetmyer looked good for a ton before holing out off Cremer for 85 off 34. Rovman Powell made 59, and some lusty blows from Sherfane Rutherford (31*) and Romario Shepherd (21) helped push the total up to 254-6, the second-highest in T20 World Cup history.

Zimbabwe were always up against it, and matters were made far worse when they lost three wickets in the first three overs with just 20 on the board. Myers was bright in a 15-ball 28, but there was always just too much to do in the chase. Eventually, they were bowled out for 147, shortly after Brad Evans scored an entertaining 43 off 21 balls from No.8.
