Sri Lankan openers Dimantha Mahavithana and Viran Chamuditha set a few records during their 2026 U19 World Cup match against Japan.
The Sri Lanka openers blazed away to a rapid start after Japan captain Kazuma Kato-Stafford won the toss and opted to field at the Namibia Cricket Ground in Windhoek. Both batters brought up their respective hundreds and eventually went on to put on 328 before Taylor Waugh ran out Mahavithana for 115 (125 balls, 11 fours).
This is now the highest partnership for any wicket in the history of Youth ODIs: the pair went past the 303, the only other triple-hundred stand, between Dan Lawrence and Jack Burnham in the 2016 U19 World Cup.
